Studying in University of Glasgow was an amazing experience for me as an exchange student. Apparently, there were a lot of benefits for oversea students, from my perspective, the most important part was enjoy advanced educational service. Besides, campus life and journey were also impressive. So I split my contents into three main parts that describe some specific interesting details during the whole year.

Part 1: academy
University of Glasgow has a perfect and unique management system called Moodle for staffs and students.First of all,it is definitely easy to gain some extracurricular knowledge for student who think the knowledge given by teacher is not enough, because Moodle often provides a large number of useful materials such as some relative expertise. Secondly, tutors are able to upload significant documents. For example, after marking the exam paper, tutor will upload students’ grades to personal area and distribution of total grades to public forum, furthermore, they also post a feedback to you though Moodle. Another great function is that almost every assignment and coursework can be finished on Moodle no matter where you are. The method is just access assessment area, then put any works you have figured out rather than hand in works by your own foots. Moodle still has many functions that i may not explain them here one by one ( as a entrance of online library and so on). In a word, i think University of Glasgow completely provides opportunities of study for students is a digital campus absolutely.

 Part 2: life
I have to admit that living in a foreign country is a tough challenge. Especially for foods, the English classic meal is fish and chips as we know, which is not bad actually. But I can’t stand the some wired beans and mash at least not suitable for me. Although I disagree English foods have good taste, there is no doubt that they pay more attention to quality of foods. The foods in the supermarket are very fresh that has clear expiration date and the food usually has only one week to store in order to keep fresh. What I must mention here is the milk and bread. For milk, not only the price is very cheap, but the taste is flavorful. Except for the normal milk from cow, it has goat milk. I think it has only a little difference in taste. For bread, the bread and cake sold are usually handmade. So if you want to order a birthday cake, remember to order in advance at least 3 days. The traditional English breakfast is very rich and delicious. It has a main meal and many drinks such as tea, yogurt and milk. The English food culture focuses more on breakfast and dinner. They usually eat some sandwiches and they like to drink afternoon tea. Because they finish one day work at six p.m., they like to get together and have a happy dinner with their family.
However, if I want to eat Chinese food, it is not a easy thing. Firstly, Chinese restaurant is rare in Glasgow and the even most ordinary meal is a little bit expensive. Additionally, if I want to buy Chinese food, I have go to Chinese supermarket. The price is high especially vegetables. Meanwhile Chinese supermarket is not in urban area which is not convenient for me. Indian restaurant is most common. When you go there, cherry smell is full of your nose. In the new environment,I find some new delicious food. “Go ahead” is a kind of snacks I really want to recommend. It is a biscuit with delicious yogurt flavor topping on a light crispy strawberry. “One Pound” supermarket sells everything at one pound. Really cheap! Moreover, majority of students own the membership of gym club, they schedule their extracurricular time before and go the gym to exercise on a regular basis. It seems like students prefer building their body to building their brain. Everyday I walk along the street, I notice that students or family always do exercise in the grove. Thus, fitness is definitely important part of quality of British life.

Part 3:travel
The university of Glasgow has 565-year history, and the city as well. The building is very old; some of them might full of stories even experienced independence war. In my opinion, everywhere in Glasgow is worth appreciating. I have also been to a lot of places in UK during my winter holiday, such as London, lake district, Belfast and some lovely small towns. The most attractive spot is lake district which consist of three main towns - Ambleside, Windmere and Grasmere. The reason why I picked this scenery is that lake district has pure air and incredible natural forest and mountains. I traveled around there by boat and bus and I appreciated beautiful trees and cottage along the lake or road with my girlfriend. On the way, we found the number of lovely and elegant swan is over fifty. To my surprise, they were not afraid of strangers, by contrast, they dared to request foods that held by travelers. I guess this is a kind of factor that made them so fat. On the other hand, the local people are pretty warm-hearted. We lived in a kind of accommodation called homestay, and the hostess gave us some brochures about guidance of lake district, which was very helpful. By the way, the breakfast prepared by hostess was awesome.

To sum up, this project broadeds my vision and steels myself. And the last experience is keeping myself busy so that I can get ride of isolation.
