It is my honor to attend University of Sussex for my master degree. University of Sussex was the first of the new wave of UK universities founded in the 1960s, receiving its Royal Charter in August 1961.

Sussex has one of the most beautiful campus locations in Britain. It is Situated in rolling parkland on the edge of Brighton, with which I fell in love at the first glance. The campus combines award-winning architecture with green open spaces. The campus is surrounded by the South Downs National Park, but just a few minutes away from the lively city of Brighton and Hove. There are many scenery spots in the downtown such as Brighton Pier and Royal Pavilion.

I enjoy the life at Sussex not only for the characteristic curricular arrangement but also the lovely friends from all around world. At weekend, I companied my friends to go to the downtown for shopping or just hanging out to see the beautiful and spectacular ocean. It is really comfortable to lie down on the cobbled beach to enjoy the sunshine in the clear days.

What characterizes the British life is people’s tolerant heart as well as the air of freedom and liberty. Everyone has the equal right and resources to secure the dream of one’s own. The so-called ‘national greatness’ is not proved by the astronomical figure of GDP, but by the motivated and generous attitude of each citizen. And what I appreciate UK most is not just the poeticscenery, but the warming and tolerant atmosphere of learning and living. The one-year experiences in University of Sussex impressed me so much that I will treasure it as one of the most valuable time in my life.
