Overview: 
 
This is a follow up course to the English writing course taught during the first semester. Teachers will expand on the material and ideas previously introduced. The course will progress from basic writing skills into applications that are more specific to an international business student.  It will teach the students not only how to write, but also how to properly format different business documents. By the end of the course each student should have at least a basic version of an English resume.
 
Objective:
The main objective of this course is still to improve the writing skills of each student.  However, this course should familiarize the students with various business documents common in international business.It will help the students understand and compose them.  It will show the students that by improving their writing they will appear more professional in a business environment.
Upon completion students should be able to:
1.Organize their ideas and writing in a logical way
2.Communicate their ideas better in writing
3.Format different business documents properly
4.Appear more professional when writing
 
Upon completion students should have: 
5.Composed a cover letter for a job application.
6.Compiled their resume in English.
7.Attempted to write other business documents.
8.Some basic understanding of a business plan
 
Focus:
1)Improve the students’ confidence to better communicate their ideas in writing.
2)  Improve the students’ ability to organize their ideas in a logical manner
3)  Improve students’ vocabulary and grammar
4)  Students should be able to write some simple business correspondence
 
Grades:
60%   participation – includes attendance, participation during class lessons, and weekly writing     assignments
20%    mid-term exam – written composition written during class time
20%    final exam – written composition during final class of semester
